Linda Womack is a nationally recognized artist, art instructor and the author of Embracing Encaustic: Learning to Paint with Beeswax. In 2010 she was the curator for Luminous Layers: Exploring Contemporary Encaustic, a wide ranging exhibit in Oregon featuring 65 artists and more than 160 pieces of art.
Linda is often a featured speaker and instructor at the International Encaustic Conference and her work has been published in American Art Collector, Studio Visit and the book, Encaustic with a Textile Sensibility.
Please join me this month for Come to Your Senses which showcases 22 local artists featuring the ancient medium of encaustic paint with a contemporary interpretation. Artists explore their sense of self with this sensual medium addressing the connection between the mind and body. The show runs February 2 - March 31, at the Portland Center for the Performing Arts (1111 SW Broadway, Portland, OR).
