| Embracing Encaustic with Linda Womack | Dear Friends,
It's finally here...happy Summer! I got a preview of it while attending the 5th International Encaustic Conference in Provincetown, Massachusetts and I have lots of photos to share with you.
I also have several shows happening right now or coming up soon in Utah, California and Oregon. If you are in the area I hope you'll stop by to see my new work.
The weather looks great for my Encaustic with a Crackle Finish class this Saturday and there are still 2 spots available. If you've wanted to take this class don't miss it as this might be the only time I can fit it into my busy schedule this summer.
Take care,

5th International Encaustic Conference
The Fifth International Encaustic Conference took place a couple of weeks ago in Provincetown, Massachusetts, with post-conference workshops at Castle Hill. I attend this conference every year and this was one of the best yet!
Conference highlights: - Keynote speaker Jackie Battenfield, author of The Artist's Guide: How to Make a Living Doing What You Love - Saturday Morning Panel: Mastering Media, where I spoke about creating my book, Embracing Encaustic - An in-house "hotel fair" where many conferees showed their work in their hotel rooms - Several encaustic themed shows in Provincetown
I've put together some great photographs from the encaustic conference on my blog as well as links from there to other artists who wrote about the event. If you're thinking of attending the conference next year this will give you a flavor of what to expect.

New Work Showing in Three States
 | Traces of History, 14 x 11, shown in Morro Bay
|
Morro Bay, California I'm pleased to have three of my paintings included in Consequential Fusion, Messages in Wax, an exhibit sponsored by the International Encaustic Artists. The show will be at Art Center Morro Bay located in beautiful downtown Morro Bay, on the central California coast midway between Los Angeles and San Francisco. The opening reception and awards presentations will be Sunday, July 10 at 3:00 pm. Regular gallery hours are daily, noon until 4:00. The show will open on July 7 and run through August 14.
 | | Fate Unfurling, 12 x 28, will be shown in Lake Oswego, OR |
Lake Oswego, Oregon Does anyone remember the Luminous Layers show I curated in Oregon last year? I hope so! Well that festival, The Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts, is here again and while the special exhibit is all about sculpture this year I will have 3 of my new encaustic paintings on display in the Key Bank Pavilion. The festival runs from June 24 - 26. Visit the festival web site for more details. Please note that this is a very popular event and parking is scarce so use the free shuttle if you plan to attend.
Park City, Utah I have work in a show at the Kimball Art Center called Encaustic with a Textile Sensibility based on Daniella Woolf's book of the same name. I'm honored to have my work in such amazing company, alongside several artists I've admired for years. If you're in the area I hope you'll be sure to see the show. The show runs through July 31.
