Dear Linda,

With a new year comes new opportunities and I'd like to share some big ones with you today!

First, the Annual Encaustic Conference in Massachusetts is about to start registration so if you're thinking about attending this year, now is the time to research your choices. Also, I'm working on a show in Oregon this summer that has a call out for encaustic work. Both have deadlines coming up soon, so read on for details. Happy 2010 everyone!

Enjoy,

John Campbell Folk School Workshop in 2009I'll be teaching several classes outside of Oregon this year, many in new venues for me! Come play with me if you can.

In these 5 day workshop step-by-step projects will illustrate techniques involving painting, collage with a variety of papers and dried plants, working with stencils, embossing, photo transfers, layering, incising and textured finishes using wax in an assortment of vivid colors. Advanced techniques will include working with pigment sticks, pastels and other surprising materials to produce unusual and distinctive results. Visit the link to each location to register with them directly.
