Encaustic Fix It Clinic

Saturday, May 15, 10 am - 4 pm, $160

Go on, admit it. How many times lately have you wondered what's wrong with that painting? It may be something very specific like a piece collage paper that won't stay down or a place where all of your colors turn to mud. Or maybe you just can't put your finger on it and need another opinion. In this class I'll have you choose a couple of problem paintings to share with the class. We'll discuss options for fixing them and then you'll have the afternoon in my studio to do just that, with help readily available of course!

Here's how it works: You choose 1 or 2 of your paintings (up to 20" on the longest side) and try your best to pin point what's wrong with each. Send me an email detailing the problem as best you can with photos if possible. This will allow me to set up any special tools you might need in advance of the class. When you come to class we'll discuss your paintings and those from the rest of the class as well so you can all learn from each others mistakes. No class will ever be the same because what we cover depends on who is attending and what their questions are. This is not intended to teach you new techniques, but rather to help you perfect those you have tried but are having trouble with. In addition to your questions, you'll benefit from the help the other three students need as well. I hope you'll join me for the low pressure way to learn from your (and everyone else's) mistakes!

Confirmation, directions to my studio and additional information will be emailed to each student upon registration. Space is limited to 4 students so classes fill quickly.
